Das Projekt - Die Idee

Doing good and being rewarded for it - that's possible with our "Blades for Good" donation raffle.

The idea is simple: 20 bladesmiths from all over the world forge a kitchen knife according to a given theme. To win one of the knives, you can buy as many raffle tickets as you like at €10 each. Each ticket is a chance to win. The raffle tickets can be purchased online during KNIFE Solingen. After the trade fair, 22 winners will be drawn and the knives sent to them.

Normally, all knives will be on display at KNIFE Solingen. Kinderlachen will also be providing information about the organization at the information stand. Due to the cancellation of the knife show 2025, the raffle will be held online only.

The faces behind the idea

"Blades for Good" was founded in 2023 by Keith Colby, Ben Halbauer and Tim Kögler and made its debut at KNIFE Solingen in May 2024. Thanks to the support of many cutlers, a large sum of money was raised in the first year. In 2024, Mershad Taghinejad joined the project and supported us with the planning for the aid organization Kinderlachen and all knives will be exhibited at KNIFE Solingen. Kinderlachen will also be providing information about the organization at the information stand.

Recurring campaigns are planned for the coming years, in which there will still be hand-forged kitchen knives to be won.
